Sports Nutrition-Recovering for Optimal Performance
Are you feeling tired or lethargic in your training? Are you unsure what to eat and when? Are you confused with all of the information surrounding sports nutrition? Ever wonder if carbohydrate loading really works?
We invite you to join Becky Hellerstein, a registered Dietitian, to explore how to optimize your performance with nutrition. Join us for this FREE workshop on Monday, October 24th at 6 pm. The workshop, the first of a 3 part series, will focus on recovery nutrition, specifically:
What is recovery nutrition?
Where is the science?
What/when to eat?
How will this help my performance?
We’ve all been through it: what to eat, when to eat it and how much to eat. And there is always more than one answer. Take this opportunity to hear about and learn more about the science and application of recovery nutrition from an expert in the field.
PowerBar will be providing sample recovery products and discussing how to utilize them in your training.
See you Monday!

Becky approaches health and fitness from a holistic perspective. Endurance and flexibility, diet and mental well-being—they’re all intertwined, and they all need attention.
Growing up, Becky was a high-level competitive gymnast, and after that a member and a captain of nationally-ranked dance teams. Those experiences taught her a great deal about movement and fitness, but they also taught her the importance of proper nutrition. Becky pursued her passion for athletics and nutrition by completing a Bachelors of Science degree in nutrition and psychology from Syracuse University and further completing her Registered Dietitian internship at Bastyr University.
With that background, Becky has put together a varied career. Becky is the Northwest Nutrition Tech Rep for PowerBar. She brings to PowerBar a combination of experience. This experience includes owning a private nutrition practice, Focused Energy, where she has worked with a variety of clients and athletes on their individual nutrition needs. Becky has also worked in corporate wellness with the 20/20 LifeStyles program, an adult and childhood weight management program, as well as worked as a wellness coach for Starbucks corporate. Movement and physical activity are essential; thus, Becky has also taught yoga and mobility to UW athletic teams and Crossfit Level 4 athletes.
Becky believes in a lifestyle approach to nutrition, looking at the whole individual. She is passionate about working with athletes to optimize their performance and achieve their personal goals through proper fuel and a balanced diet.
