HSP Physiological Testing Package Special Offer

Thursday August 19, 2010

You wouldn’t train the same way in December the same way you would in July, right? HSP is offering a quarterly performance testing package at a special rate for a limited time.

As your fitness changes, so must your training and regular testing at HSP will help to insure that the decisions you are making with your training are the best ones for you.
Physiological testing is a great way to see where your fitness is right now and future tests at key times during the year will confirm if the training protocols you are following are the right ones. Our test generates a lot of detailed and useful information and the testing session is followed up with an In depth consultation to help you understand what the numbers and percentages mean. You can then apply that information to your training and the results of every test can be compared to your previous tests in order to track progress. Our testing protocol is unique and we set up training zones based on true physiological bio markers, not arbitrary percentages.

Included in the package are two in-depth combination VO2 and lactate tests and two lactate tests, which would normally retail for 640.00. We are offering the entire package for 395.00 for a limited time.

The first test should be near the beginning of your winter training and this will be the combination VO2 and lactate test whcih will give you the best picture of where you are right now in order to get you started with the right kind of training for your system. The following quarterly tests are intended to keep your training zones up to date and to track progress. The VO2 portion of the tests gives you real world useful information about your breathing and oxygen use that will make you a more efficient bike racer. The lactate tests determine true lactate threshold and your current relationship between heart rate and wattage.

For more information on our protocols and to book your first appointment, please call HSP at: 206 816 3436

We’re proud to launch a new site with a fresh new look, and more importantly, the HSP Online Store. We’ve picked products for the store that are unique and special; you won’t find a lot of these products anywhere else. An online store for racers, built by racers. That’s our vision.

In the coming weeks, we’ll be adding more products, as well as an extensive collection of used and demo gear. Stay tuned for great values on high-end equipment that’s been gently loved.

We’ve also updated the Pro Shop page with new information, a detailed services menu, and an inspiring story from Todd about the origins of our “brick and mortar” Pro Shop. You can also check out the bikes we carry in our showroom.

And be sure to check out the new gallery on our Training Facility page. If you haven’t been in this summer, come on in and get acquainted with our new equipment.

We hope you enjoy the new site.

CycleSoles at HSP

Friday March 12, 2010

HSP is now offering CycleSoles, the newest advancement of custom footbed technology for the cycling industry since the advent of custom cycling shoes. Cyclesoles is the next generation of integration between you and your bicycle and are proven to improve power, efficiency, and comfort on the bike. We are all using the insoles in our shoes and have each noticed a distinct improvement in foot stability and improved power transfer in our pedal strokes.

At the heart of the Cyclesoles system is the fully custom moldable footbed which is made from an amazing new ultra-light thermo-moldable material thar can be formed to fit and correct any shape foot at an amazingly low weight of 17 grams or less.

Unique to the footbed is the “Power Plus Platform” with enhanced ergonomic arch support which is a key component in creating the forward distribution of power required on the bike by providing additional support to the mid (metatarsal) arch of the foot and what’s truly revolutionary and unique about the system is the on-bike molding platform. By molding the footbed in the power position while on the bike, the power transfer from the leg into the foot is greatly improved. The system uses a knee alignment wand in conjunction with a talonavicular correction guide to obtain proper knee alignment and to structurally stabilize the foot, which will transfer more forward power to the spindle. Cycling is unique in how the body transmits power to the pedal to create forward motion on the bike which is why we feel the Cyclesoles system has a functional advantage over anything on the market today.

In two hours time your insoles are molded to your foot on the fit platform, the Power Plus Platform is added to increase the support through the heel and mid arch and the insole is shaped and honed to fit your shoe. No other system offers such customization in such a short period of time.

Stop by the Pro Shop and check out a sample and learn more about the CycleSoles system.

Cost: 250.00 per pair
