Round 2 for the Rocket Ride was on Saturday and the turnout was in the hood of 23 riders. It was a solid mix of riders with a guest appearance by Tom Peterson of Garmin/Chipotle. Having a local Protour youngblood out for a group ride ads a certain level of “schtick” to the event.
For group rolled up the first major roller , Norway, a bit more reserved than last week with no one willing to light it up for what in my view was a fear of being throttled by Tom. But as unbridled group rides go, it wasn’t long before the half-wheeling fiesta began and metes were being spiked. There were a few major re-groupings as the ride progressed but the last 10 miles going through the Snoqulamie Valley saw some serious super novas taking place and the group severely fracture into small pieces.
And in the end, we all re grouped at the Starbucks in Woodinville to share in stories of WOAH from a solid day in the saddle.
Last week there was a broken bike and this week there was another busted frame- this time NOT due to riding blindly into a wooden post. Check this out:

No injuries reported, some bruised egos (mine included) and another great day for riding.
And here are some of the remnants- a motley crew indeed.

Best,
TH
